Please read this document carefully as it contains important information about my professional services and business policies.
I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework, a copy of which can be found below:
Confidentiality
All sessions are confidential unless I believe you are at risk of harming yourself or others or if I believe that you are at risk of harm from others. In these circumstances, disclosure is required by law. I will always try to inform you of a breach of confidentiality before it happens.
Sessions
Sessions are 50 minutes and need to finish on time. Therefore, please try to arrive on time or your session will be shorter than expected. If you are running late, please call or send a text as soon as possible as I may assume you are not attending and will leave the building after 20 minutes into the allocated time slot.
Payments
Payments must be made either before the session by bank transfer or at the end of the session in cash.
Cancellations
There is a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you cannot attend a session, then 48 hours’ notice must be given by email or text message to avoid payment. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, then the full session fee is still charged. This fee must be paid within 24 hours of the missed session by bank transfer. I will do my best to reschedule, depending on availability.
If I have to cancel a session, I will aim to give as much notice as possible.
Session notes & Supervision
I have a legal obligation to write notes after each session. These notes are brief and do not include names or personal details that can identify the client but cover the main themes of the session and any actions taken. Session notes are stored on password-protected Word documents that only I have access to. At the first session, I will give you a copy of my Privacy Policy, so you understand my data collection and storage plus your data rights.
I attend monthly supervision to ensure that I work ethically and to the best of my ability under such guidance by counselling professionals.
